Program leaders for the teens have planned a full week of eclectic activities, including a field trip and lots of "hanging out" time.

The program theme for elementary-aged children this year is Outer Space! In addition to having an astronomy expert and an aeronautics engineer on hand, the teachers are preparing lots of interesting and informative activities for the children.

Testing Program

SHARE offers the following options if you desire an educational assessment for your child. You may sign up on the registration form.

Reading Assessment (grades K-2)
This assessment will provide information on the development of skills your child needs to become a successful reader. These skills include phonemic and phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Cost: Sponsoring Agency: $20; Non-sponsoring agency: $30; Others $40

Achievement testing (grades 3-11)
SHARE offers achievement testing using the ITBS (grades 3-8) and WJIII (grades 9 - 11) to assess whether your child is “on track” with his or her age mates. The ITBS test will be given on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 – 4:00. The WJIII test will be scheduled so that your teen does not miss important events such as the field trip. These tests offer assessment in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. SHARE recommends testing every other year but these tests are appropriate for families requiring or desiring annual testing.
Cost: Sponsoring Agency: $40; Non-sponsoring agency: $60; Others: $80

Diagnostic tests for struggling learners (grades 3-10)
If you have observed your child struggling in reading, writing, or mathematics, appropriate testing will bring to light areas of strength and weakness. In some cases, these tests may identify issues that need special attention or further assessment. There will be a limited number of appointments with an educational psychologist for diagnostic testing.
Diagnostic Testing Cost: Sponsoring Agency: $100; Non-sponsoring agency: $120; Others: $200
OR
